Elena Shackleton\ BIO\ Elena began her journey as an artist at an early age at the Barn Studio of Art. She was exposed to the teaching of many great artists and instructors from The Philadelphia Museum School and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Most formative were the Academy instructor workshops and Henry Hensche at the Cape School of Art. She went on to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and drawing. She worked for several years in illustration and graphic design. Elena switched careers and returned to painting and teaching and has taught privately and publicly for 30 years. She has taught watercolor drawing and painting from life at the Banana Factory and advanced watercolor at the Baum School of Art. Elena is a devoted Plein Air painter and studio painter. She is presently President of The Lehigh Art Alliance and is active in organizing exhibitions and mentoring artists of all ages and levels through that organization.\
